Isa Khan led the Baro Bhuiyans, the Bengal chiefs who resisted the Mughals in the late 16th century. After he died in September 1599 he was buried at Bakhtarpur in what is now Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur. For a long time the exact spot was uncertain, but research on the site and its old remains settled on Bakhtarpur. In December 2021 a new memorial structure was built and opened over the grave. It is a quiet village stop for anyone following Isa Khan's story from Sonargaon to Kishoreganj.
