Narsingdi Weaving

Weaving has long been the backbone of Narsingdi's economy, especially around Madhabdi. Many families once worked handlooms at home, and today the clack of power looms fills village lanes alongside the older looms. Saris, lungis, gamchas and bedcovers made here are sold across the country. Walking through a weaving village gives you a sense of how much of Bangladesh's everyday cloth starts here.
