Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection
আর্মেনিয়ান গির্জা
A quiet 18th-century church and graveyard that recalls Dhaka's small Armenian merchant community.

Armanitola takes its name from the Armenian traders who settled in Dhaka in the Mughal era. Their church, completed in 1781, stands in a walled compound with old gravestones inscribed in Armenian and English. The whitewashed building and bell tower feel far removed from the busy lanes outside. A caretaker usually opens the gate for respectful visitors.
How to get there
Walk from Star Mosque in Armanitola; the church is a few lanes away.
Good to know
Knock at the gate and ask politely; a small donation is appreciated.
