Kalagachhia eco-tourism centre

Kalagachhia is a Forest Department visitor spot inside the western Sundarbans. A wooden trail runs through the mangroves on stilts, and a watchtower looks over the canopy and channels. Monkeys are common, and kingfishers and egrets work the creek banks. It is the most practical short trip into the forest from the Satkhira side.

How to get there

Hire a boat from Burigoalini or Munshiganj; the ride takes roughly an hour depending on tide.

Good to know

Buy entry at the forest station first. Stay on the walkway, keep bags closed against monkeys, and return before dark.
