Guliakhali is unlike a typical sandy beach. At low tide the ground is a carpet of short green grass cut by small tidal channels, with mangrove saplings planted along the edge of the sea. It feels open and quiet, especially on weekdays, and the light at sunset turns the water channels silver. It combines easily with a morning hike up Chandranath.

From Sitakunda bazar take a CNG for about 20–30 minutes to the beach.
Good to know
Check tide times; the grassland is best at low tide. Wear sandals you can get muddy.
