At Bijoypur near Durgapur, low hills are made of white kaolin (china clay) mined for ceramics. Years of digging have left terraced slopes of white, cream and pinkish clay beside pools of turquoise and green water. The contrast with the green hills and the sky makes it one of the most photographed landscapes in northern Bangladesh. Paths can be slippery, especially after rain.
